Notes:  Perry's painting of an unidentifiable stack illustrates an essay by Nina Lubbren, in which, even in 2007, she makes the familiar error: after the success of Monet's exhibition of haystacks in 1891, they became firmly linked to Giverny in particular and appear in various paintings produced in the village, such as Breck's own series... and Perry's 1890 Landscape.
