Notes:  The largest piece in the gallery is a pyramid sculpture of hay. The top is crowned with a copper metal top and the entire sculpture is connected with a rope block and tackle pulley system to a large barn beam “floating” overhead. There are several symbolic references with the pyramid form. Some of those include the food pyramid, stability, value, and unity. The main reference however, is to the economics and work involved with the making of hay. Those details were very well known to most for hundreds of years, but not so today. In spite of our general ignorance, however, hay remains a staple ingredient in the complex foundation of our economic structure. [artist's notes]
