Title of Work:  Bles murs (Ripened wheat)

Index Words:  harvest, scythe, mower
Place:  France
Notes:  The wheat looks more like grass, but the cradle attached to the scythe was more commonly used in the grain harvest. Included here as an exemplary rural image, created in the last year of the painter's life and probably symbolic. I saw the original, beautifully illuminated and isolated on its own wall at the Santa Barbara Museum, in January, 2006.
