Notes:  The National Park Service uses this mundane image to illustrate the challenge of maintaining historic farmlands in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. The traditional fields have been invaded by forests, but they are too small to justify the use of modern agricultural machinery. Furthermore, many of the old farm buildings have been torn down, and so balestacks like this one are left collapsing unprotected.
