Notes:  This is the sixteenth and final slide of an excellent series depicting the method of haymaking in northern Romania. ID 2137-2148 show a selection of the set entitled 'Making a Haystack.' When the hay has thoroughly dried in the field cocks, some of it is brought by horse and wagon to sheds closer to the farmstead. The sheds are very similar in shape to the Dutch-style sheds shown elsewhere in the paintings from the Northern Renaissance and nineteenth century New England and the photographs of Sotriffer on either side of the Alps.
